Terms of Service.

1. Beta status

Tried is in private beta. Features, availability, and data may change without notice. Access is invite-only. The Service is provided as-is — we don't promise it'll be error-free, uninterrupted, or preserved across resets. Don't rely on Tried as your primary record of anything.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 to use Tried. One account per person. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe and for any activity under your account. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.

3. Content you post

Reviews, ratings, lists, follows, and other content you contribute ("Content") remain yours. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, adapt, and distribute your Content in connection with operating the Service, including in aggregated views like leaderboards.

You're responsible for what you post. Don't post content that's illegal, defamatory, infringing, deceptive, or that you don't have the right to share. When a disclosure applies (e.g. you received a product free, you work for the brand), attach it — that's a hard requirement.

4. What you can't do

• No fake ratings or reviews. No sock-puppet accounts.
• No harassment, hate speech, threats, or targeted abuse of any user or brand.
• No scraping the Service, automated access, or extracting bulk content without prior written permission.
• No paying for or accepting payment for a rating, review, or placement without a written disclosure attached.
• No reverse-engineering, security probing, or interfering with the Service.

5. Brands and moderation

Brands can never pay to change ratings, hide legitimate negatives, or influence content moderation. Verified brand representatives can edit brand info and respond to reviews under their name.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms. During beta, moderation is community-flagged plus our own review. Decisions are at our discretion; if a legitimate business or public-safety issue is at stake, we'll act quickly.

6. Our stuff

The Service, its design, and all associated software, brand marks, and aggregated data are owned by us or our licensors and protected by IP law. You get a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Service under these terms.

7. Disclaimers

The Service and all Content are provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that Content is accurate, that products are safe, that reviews reflect the truth, or that the Service will meet your needs. Consult a professional for medical, dietary, or health decisions.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is capped at $100.

9. Indemnification

You'll indemnify us against claims arising from your Content, your violation of these terms, or your misuse of the Service.

10. Termination

You can stop using Tried at any time. We can suspend or close your account if you violate these terms or if we need to for legal, safety, or platform-health reasons. Sections that by nature should survive termination (Content license, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law) survive.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of California, USA, without regard to conflicts-of-law rules. Disputes go to state or federal courts in San Francisco County, California.

12. Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be surfaced in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use after that means you accept the update.
