Tried is operated by Sugar Capital ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Short version: we collect only what we need to run the Service, we never sell your data, and you can delete your account.

1. What we collect

Account: email address or phone number (whichever you sign in with), display name, handle, optional avatar, invite code you redeemed.
Activity: your ratings, tried/want toggles, reviews, lists, follows, disclosures you attach. These are the point of the product.
Device + usage: pageviews, approximate location by region, referrer, user-agent, IP (stored briefly). Collected via Vercel Analytics; no third-party ad cookies.
Support: anything you send us over email or in the app when reporting an issue.

2. Why we collect it

To run the Service: authenticate you, deliver SMS codes, show you feeds and rankings, let brands respond to reviews, prevent abuse, and improve the product by watching what works.

3. What we share

We don't sell your data. We share it only with service providers that need it to run the Service on our behalf:

Supabase — database, authentication, file storage
Vercel — hosting + first-party analytics
Sendblue — SMS delivery for sign-in codes
Google — OAuth sign-in (if you use that option)
Resend — transactional email delivery
Anthropic — LLM extraction on public product data during ingestion; no user PII is sent
Firecrawl — public web scraping during ingestion; no user PII is sent

We may disclose data if legally required, if needed to protect the Service or users from imminent harm, or as part of a business combination (with notice).

4. What's public

Your public reviews, ratings, lists (marked public), and profile handle are visible to any signed-in user and, once we relax the beta gate, to the internet. Don't post anything you wouldn't want a friend, an employer, or a search engine to see.

5. Cookies + storage

We use strictly-necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your invite code during redemption. Vercel Analytics uses cookieless first-party measurement — no cross-site tracking.

6. Data retention

We keep account data for as long as your account is active. Public content (ratings, reviews, lists) remains available even if you delete your account, unless you request removal. Server logs and analytics are retained for up to 12 months.

7. Your choices

You can edit your profile, delete individual ratings or reviews, or close your account at any time. Email us to request a copy of your data or full deletion. We'll respond within 30 days.

8. Children

Tried isn't for anyone under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If we learn we have, we delete it.

9. Location + international users

The Service is operated from the United States. If you use Tried from outside the US, your data is transferred to and processed in the US. By using the Service, you consent to that transfer.

10. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (Supabase-managed Postgres). Passwords are handled by our auth provider; we never see them. No system is perfectly secure. If you suspect an issue, tell us fast.

11. Changes

We'll update this policy when the product changes what it collects. Material changes will be surfaced in the app or by email before they take effect.
